Join BRP Volunteer Chairs and other staff on Friday August 27th after work (6pm) at Smokey's After Dark for a TGIF drink and learn about volunteer opportunities for the day of the festival. We are in need of folks to make crafts with kids, recycle, pour beers, and work to set-up and break-down the event. Come have some snacks, have your 1st pick at shifts and start your Friday off right. Volunteers for the 2010 festival will receive a free t-shirt and 2 beverage tickets to be used for soda, water, or beer in exchange for their help. Smokey's is located at 18 Broadway in downtown Asheville.

Hello Asheville Community!
We are gathering closer to Blue Ridge Pride slated to occur on Lexington Ave this year in the heart of downtown Asheville. We expect to be bigger, have more entertainment, and more excitement this year. As always, being a non-profit is a tough place to be. We were lucky last year to secure a national sponsor, but unfortunately, as of this week, that sponsor has unexpectedly dropped out leaving Pride in a deficit with a mere 3 months to go. Pride would love to ask for your support and the support of the community in helping to meet our $20,000 budget for 2010. $1, $5, or $50, all would be helpful. There are a couple of ways to help out, one would be clicking our donation link to give via PayPal. Receipts can be mailed or emailed this way for any donations received. The second way is to visit Greenlife, Lola Salon , Vanuatu Kava, LaRue's backdoor, or Indo to buy a $1 "Rainbow for Pride", our July fundraiser. Pride is about the community, and making our Asheville area a place where we are all proud and safe to be.
Thanks for all you do! Amy
